Being an old print media specialist, and evidently a past-his-prime master of typography, I never though I’d see great typography come to the web. It took me a few seconds to realize that the face of the lady (the one designed by Chinad0ll) is made up of alphabets. Awesome color combination. The rest are also good. However, the one designed by Luke Lucas is horrible.

I’m with all those who pointed out that legibility and readability seems to have been thrown out the window on some of these. What’s “stunning” is that some of these were even featured in the first place. There are some excellent eamples in this collection, but some are just poorly executed. Beware the use of superlatives when assembling such a subjective collection. If it fails to communicate the message, then how can it be “stunning”?
