Valay Shende‘s works are in subtle ways his attempts to question the maladies afflicting urban society and humans today. He is a keen and sensitive observer of his surroundings and concerned about the common man’s trail and tribulations of day-today life. He feels an artist owes a responsibility to the society and firmly believes an ideal world can be re-created. He wishes the audience to reflect upon the social issues plaguing man today.

He created an original size copy of a truck, it which he placed twenty-two human figures. The most amazing thing in this project is the technique and materials used by the artist. The creation of the sculpture called Transit took the author one and a half years. The truck has a frame to which were welded several thousand retro reflective discs.
