Electric Renault DeZir Concept is Unveiled

Renault has provided a preview glimpse of its new concept car, DeZir, ahead of this year’s Paris Motor Show. The DeZir is meant to convey the new design language of the brand, according to Renault. The car is powered by an 110 kW (150 PS) and 226 Nm (167 lb-ft) of torque producing mid-mounted electric motor fed by a vertically-placed 24 kWh lithium-ion battery behind the bench seat. The car is said to have a range of 160 km (100 miles).
The Dezir is the first project under the leadership of Laurens van den Acker, Renault’s head of design. The new concept is inspired by the brand’s new signature Drive the Change and explores Renault’s styling roots to express three keywords which communicate the brand’s vision, namely “simple”, “sensuous” and “warm”.
The car comes with design touches such as large wheel arches (fitted with 21-inch wheels), a full-width front air intake/grille that stretches from the Renault badge in the center of the face to under the headlights, and the large, gaping mouth of the rear end. The cabin is very bare and mostly white with space-age design-like curves. “Inside DeZir, you feel like you’re floating on a cloud,” says Stéphanie Petit, the concept car’s color and materials designer.

I’ve always been a fan of electric cars, and I love the Tesla Roadster, but then I saw this car….then the interior…Holy cow! That is breathtaking!
