When The History Channel needs a worldwide branding campaign, they turn to Seth Taras, a self-taught American photographer who uses photo manipulation to blend the past with the present. Seth is known for his project, entitled as Know Where You Stand, which includes the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the invasion of Normandy in 1944, and the Hindenburg disaster in 1937.

The series is created as a reminder of major historical events for the History Channel in what they describe as a way to “Motivate people to understand the history of where they live by watching the History Channel.”
