Spanish artist Rómulo Celdrán creates the “Macro” series, representing hand-constructed and hyper-realistic sculptures of household objects which help create the sense of tangible reality.

“Macro” features matchsticks, kitchen sponges, and spilled cans in exaggerated scale. Each work is over-sized, hyper-realistic and delicate, working with techniques to best realize each sculpture, as if minimizing us into the world of household objects.

According to Rómulo Celdrán, quotidian objects inspire him for different reasons, which can be aesthetic, plastic, functional or even emotional. But his artistic thought finds beauty in household things, turns them into art and presents them to us.
