15 Times the Weather Has Changed History
15. Hiroshima Sunshine
On August 6, 1945, the first nuclear weapon was dropped on Hiroshima. The reason? There was no cloud cover, which made it a prime target for that day. Even more disturbing is that on August 8th, cloud cover over Kokura deferred planes to their backup plan, dropping a bomb on Nagasaki. If the clouds had behaved differently, you have to wonder how it might have changed history.
