These are all pretty cool looking. I tend to prefer the simpler looking fonts, but certainly appreciate the artistry in the more ornate ones.

some nice work here. But “Of All Time”?
makes me realize there isn’t much knowledge of design history to title this.
Please refrain in the future from such misleading names.

Of all time?.. Seriously? You think this is the most inspiring typography inspirations of all time?
That is just sad.

These are not the 60 most stunning of all time…. typography dates well before the modern era of computer enhanced styles. Next time try to find examples that are true typography and not just making something look pretty.

okay, great inspiration for “3D/curly/glossy/bold type”, but not typography with all its values.

I am a graphic design and I really like what people have done with type. I’m not sure how to do this type of work. How do you create this stuff?

This is a joke right? You’re calling this the greatest type inspriation of all time?
These examples were obviously done in the last few years, and none of the people who designed them are recognized as great designers.
Perhaps a better name for this post would be “60 most overly photoshopped examples of type by non-designers of the last 2 years”

I teach creative lettering to my 3rd grade students to use in their project work instead of commonplace lettering. I also teach calligraphy and the kids love to create calligrams.
Keep creating and inspiring! Thanks!

I’m with all those who pointed out that legibility and readability seems to have been thrown out the window on some of these. What’s “stunning” is that some of these were even featured in the first place. There are some excellent eamples in this collection, but some are just poorly executed. Beware the use of superlatives when assembling such a subjective collection. If it fails to communicate the message, then how can it be “stunning”?

It took me a few seconds to realize that the face of the lady (the one designed by Chinad0ll) is made up of alphabets. Awesome color combination. The rest are also good. However, the one designed by Luke Lucas is horrible.

Being an old print media specialist, and evidently a past-his-prime master of typography, I never though I’d see great typography come to the web. Now I just found I’ve been looking in the wrong places. Thanks for reminding me that great type is still available from people who care about this lost art. Jeff Dobkin
