The “mostlikely DIY lampshades” were founded 2012 by Maik Perfahl and Wolfgang List of the interdisdiplinary design/sound/architecture collective “mostlikely”. The goal was to create complex objects at a low price that can be used as mask, lampshade or something else. He has made some of the most adorable paper animal lighjts.
Each lampshade starts as a complex 3D computer model. The customer can choose from different objects or design a unique one. Nearly any form is possible. In a second step the 3d computer model gets transformed into a flat plan. This flat plan gets printed on heavy paper with a standard oversize printer used in architecture offices. The printout gets turned over to the customer. In the last step the customer cuts out, folds and glues the parts together. At the fair “Maison&Objet†in Paris “mostlikely” won the „Prix Découvertes MAISON&OBJET 2012“. You can find them on Etsy.
