Industrial design student Andrew Kim has designed a new package for Coke. The cap of the new bottle is 25% slimmer than the current one, and 27% more efficient because of its drastically reduced footprint.
The body of the bottle is made of 100% sugar cane byproducts and is creatively designed in square, which will greatly save the space for transport and storage. According to the estimate, for every 4 bottles, space for nearly 2 additional bottles is recovered during transport process work. What’s more, underneath the label, the bottle is ribbed so that it can compress like an accordion and thus make the recycle more efficient. With such a fashion design, will Coke be tempted and give up its traditional image? (Andrew Kim’s web site)
