With the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Crossing, FXFOWLE is going to create new record about bridge. The new bridge that will be completed in 2012 is 1.7km long, 64 m wide. The arch will be 667 m long and 205 m high making it the world’s longest arch on an arch bridge.
The project includes the construction of roads and intersections, 12 passenger lanes and a dual rail track for the Dubai Metro’s Green Line. It will also include a man-made island on which an Opera theater will be constructed.
Once finished, the bridge will link the localities of Al Jaddaf and Bur Dubai and will be able to carry 20,000 vehicles per hour.
