Livia Marin is a London-based Chilean artist who employs everyday objects to explore the nature of how we relate to material objects in an era dominated by standardization and global circulation.

She created Nomad Patterns, the interesting classic porcelain China pieces that seem to have melted and pooled on a hot summer day. Normally once something is broken, it either stops being used or is thrown away, but the damaged here feel particularly attached or sentimental, beautiful and alluring.

In this, the work seeks to offer a reflection on the relationship we develop with those often unseen objects that meet our daily needs. More works can be seen on her website.
