A co-located experience is a key target and would really change the way people play games. Games such as Rec Room and VRChat have made strides in this direction.
Augmented Reality (AR) is also going to have a big influence on future games. It’s been around since 2016 when the Pokémon Go craze took over the world.
The way in which you are able to interact with reality has made AR a success. AR gaming is popular on mobile phones but other ways of implementing it are being seen. AR glasses look to be a way forward.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rarely out of the news these days. It has had a presence in gaming for a fair while now. Those who have played Pac-Man will have seen the AI created ghosts which is an example of Non-Playing-Characters (NPC).

One area in which AI may make an impact is in the actual graphics of games. The time it takes to create games is likely to be considerably shorter in the future.
