The folks at Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia received a badly injured cat in May 2017. The cat was a six-month-old stray who went through a bad accident and lost two of its paws. Things were not looking good for the stray and the rescuers rushed her into surgery. However, this is when the stray crossed paths with her savior.
20. Tragic Accident
This is the cat that arrived at Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia. As you can tell from this picture, the stray was missing two paws and her future was looking grim.

The only good thing that the stray had going on was that she was taken to a rescue center filled with special people. The stray was named Nubbies and she was sent into surgery.
18. Meeting Sara Rivers
Sara Rivers is one of the volunteers who work at the rescue center and she instantly felt a bond with the stray. Seeing the amount of pain that Nubbies was in, Sara couldn’t help it from feeling sorry for it.
17. Special Baths
Sara says that the moment she fell in love with Nubbies was when she started giving her special baths. The baths were cleaning her wounds and this hurt, but Nubbies didn’t run away.

Even though Nubbies got in a bad accident and went through surgery, the stray didn’t let this affect her too much and her spirits were always up. Can you believe how positive Nubbies can be?
15. Cool Cat
Another incredible thing about Nubbies is that she would stay calm even when the vet checked her little paws. The stray somehow knew that the vet only wanted the best for her and didn’t try to run away or scratch the vet.

This is a picture of Nubbies’s missing paws. As you can clearly tell, the stray has been in a terrible accident and the vet believes that it was a car crash. Can you imagine how much pain the poor cat must be in?
13. No Way Of Recovering
The worst thing about this is that the vet says there’s no way for Nubbies to recover. Her paws are never going to be normal and the stray needs to live without them.
12. Becoming Best Friends
As Nubbies was being taken care of at the rescue center, the stray became best friends with Sara River. Sara says that she wanted to adopt Nubbies, but she already had lots of animals at her house and there wasn’t any room left.
11. Sara Couldn’t Resist
Even though her house was filled with other dogs and cats, Sara couldn’t resist and decided to adopt Nubbies. The injured cat was not a stray anymore. Isn’t Sara amazing?

There aren’t that many people who would adopt a stray cat, especially a cat that’s missing two paws! This shows us just how special Sara Rivers really is.

Even though Nubbies is never going to get his paws back, at least he is going to get better. Not just that, but Sara is always going to be there to help him whenever he can’t get up!

All that really matters is that Nubbies is not a stray anymore. Can you imagine how tough it must be to live on the streets, especially not being able to walk or defend yourself?

Sara is making sure that Nubbies is taken care of by taking him to the vet every other week. The vet might not be able to bring back his paws, but he will make sure that he can recover his health and feel better.

Sara is doing her best to take care of Nubbies, but the vet bills can get pretty expensive. This is why Sara started a fundraising campaign for Nubbies. You won’t believe how much money Sara managed to raise already!
5. Helping Out
Many people want to help out and Sara managed to get over $1,000 already. On the downside of things, Sara needs a total of $3,000 for Nubbies’s medical bills and she has to get more donations.
4. Survivor
Nubbies is a survivor and there’s no doubt about that! Despite her injuries, the cat is not giving up and she is trying to walk every day. Just keep reading and see how she manages to do that.
