Tips To Consider When Creating Matching Team T-Shirts

There’s a love for the t-shirt. You know? The one you can’t throw out even though it looks tacky. There’s something about a right-fitting t-shirt that fits right. When designing your brand’s team t-shirt, keep that in mind. You want employees of all shapes, and sizes, to feel good in their clothes.

The Goal

For team t-shirts, you should consider the branding you would like. Brainstorm ideas about what you want your t-shirt to communicate. Consider the purpose of the t-shirt. Is it for a short promotion or is it a company-branded tee? Does it speak to team unity? Once you are able to answer confidently, you know the direction your company is heading. You can decide whether you want to opt for a serious or playful vibe. If the tee is for everyday use, you may consider selecting a higher quality fabric than you would for a promotional tee.

Sizing and Material

Designing t-shirts means choosing the right fit and the correct fabric. With many different materials out there, you need to decide which one will present your brand and be comfortable simultaneously. Cotton t-shirts are great for warmer climates as their fabric is breathable and of high quality. If your company is already environmentally-friendly, cotton may be your way to go.

Size does matter. You wouldn’t want one employee to feel left out because their shirt doesn’t fit. The size of the t-shirt also includes the logo size and position on the tee. A logo too large taking up most of the t-shirt could be uncomfortable. To be sure of your final design, play around with the logo and words by printing it on paper first. You may also change it slightly if you are producing t-shirts for women and children. If you decide that you want just one t-shirt for the whole company, you could opt for the unisex t-shirt. If you live in a cooler climate, you might want to choose a long sleeve tee.

Typography

There’s more than just what your message has to say. Anytime typography is printed on apparel, it must be clear and eye-catching. You can achieve this by selecting the right font and letters placed evenly. Typography is sometimes tricky, because you want it to look attractive without interfering with your overall design. Changing up the fonts also creates more visual appeal, and adding a few fonts helps your brand, as certain words stand out. Therefore, the type of font chosen is crucial. When you want to convey a serious message, you can’t use comic sans or a font known for comedy. Play around with different fonts and think outside the box to achieve the most creative look.

Image Resolution

When you have your images, submit them in the top format possible. If the art files are of low quality, they will show up on the t-shirt all pixelated, and it will be a waste of hard work. For images to be at their best for t-shirts, they should be around 200 dpi, if not higher. Often you will think the design is of printing quality. However, when the designer looks at it, he notices the reduced dpi.

Upload and Print

Once you have your unique design for your team t-shirts – design custom, you should upload and order. Choose your fabric, fit, and you’re all set for creating matching team t-shirts.
