A Short Do’s And Don’ts Guide To Web-Design

Web design has now become one of the most lucrative online businesses you can come across, and there’s a lot of talented individuals who are dipping their toes into the market to share their artistic web-designing works. This means there’s a lot of competition out there for those looking to start their own web-designing business, so for one to be successful they need to stand out and really do a good job. If you’re relatively new to this, you’re going to need some direction on the fundamental tasks to design the ideal website.

It’s not as simple as adding the content and throwing it onto a template unless you want to take the easy way out like one would on Wix, there’s many aspects to take note of when designing a website from scratch, so Adobe came up with some of the most important and fundamental rules that revolve around the vast world of Web design.

DO Tailor your webpage universally.

When designing a website it’s very important to keep in mind that people can use all kinds of devices to access the internet nowadays. It’s not just about finishing your computer layout. There’s billions of devices out there that can browse on the web such as tablets, smartphones, TV’s and even watches. It’s important to give your site different layouts because you need to cater for a wide variety of sizes for displays.

DO NOT Implement too much data

If you put too much stuff on your site, it’s going to increase the loading time and that can really have a negative effect on the user’s experience nowadays. The more time passes, the faster technology becomes, and the more convenient it feels for us, the faster we’re going to start losing patience. Excessively long loading times increase the probability of potential traffic to lose interest in your site and therefore would be very bad for business.

DO make your site easily navigable

The navigation section can make or break a website in terms of accessibility and user satisfaction. If you have a vast website it is of utmost importance to make it easy for users to navigate through, otherwise your site would be unusable. It’s pointless to have a website if your users can’t even find what they’re looking for. The best way to go for this is having a few important navigation options at the top level of the site and a full index at the bottom.

DO NOT go overboard with colors

Unless you want your site to look like you’re promoting a circus, lay low on the color scheme. Keep a few consistent colors that mirror the site’s company colours and keep it as minimal as possible for a calming user experience. Too much variety and color can cause disorientation and a simpler layout can make your site look much more formal and professional.

DO work hard on a good interface

The most important thing of building a multi-page website like casinotop is to make it feel like you’re still on the same site when navigating from one page to another. This means that the interface you use to build your main page needs to look similar to all the other page interfaces. This is important to make your website look like a consistent product, and this will have positive effects on usability and client satisfaction.

DO NOT use multiple fonts

Just as mentioned earlier with colour schemes and interface, it’s important to make your site feel like a consistent product. Your site needs to have a unique image, and using too many fonts can be confusing and looks messy and cluttered. That’s why you should stick to a single, flagship font that feels like your company, and maybe bold it out when there’s an emphasis on something. But there’s no point to having more than one handwriting on the same piece of paper.

Finally, DO test and assess your design

When you have completed a website’s design, you are excited to get it live and see what users have to say about it and possibly even receive a little feedback, however, hold your horses! It’s very important to go through every inch and corner of your site to make sure you don’t leave any errors behind you. You need to make sure there is not a single flaw in the coding and that the site runs fine with no issues at all. You might think it’s fantastic, but you should still see what other users have to say about it. Effectiveness can only be assessed by the experience of client usage, therefore you should always keep in mind to have someone else look at the site for you before you publish it and say that your work is finished. Sometimes you can get some very good insights from secondary sources.
